Pricing is based on breed, size, condition of coat, temperament, and frequency of appointments. Quotes are based on an 8-week or less schedule.

Pets brought in less frequently run the risk of incurring additional costs as described below. If you choose a less frequent grooming schedule then we recommend routine brushing and combing at home. This can help avoid additional charges and also acclimate your pet to the grooming process in turn creating a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Additional charges may be incurred for pets requiring extra time and extra effort due to:

  1. Excessively matted or knotted coats
  2. Age
  3. Temperament
  4. Special needs
  5. Shave downs/overall trims on double coated breeds that are not typically cut (such as Goldens, Border Collies, Aussies, etc.) may also incur an additional cost.
  6. Dematting is $30.00/hour regardless of whether it is brushed out or shaved off. Not all coats can be dematted and in some cases it is better to shave the pet because of the degree of matting or the pet’s ability to tolerate the dematting process. Matted hair that is shaved off rather than brushed out will grow back faster and healthier. (Shaving off a matted coat requires additional steps and time in the grooming process. Therefore, it will still incur additional costs).

Appointments /Scheduling

Here at Salon Fido we structure our days a little differently than other salons. Our days are split into morning and afternoon grooming sessions where dogs are dropped off at designated times to be worked into that session. We do not groom your dog straight through from start to finish. Rather we groom him/her in stages. This allows for small breaks throughout their stay. We find this creates a more conducive environment for pets that may otherwise be nervous, fidgety, or unable to stand for long periods of time.

Therefore in lieu of an ‘appointment time’ we schedule a ‘drop off time’ for your pet.

Drop Off Times

It is not necessary to come any earlier than your scheduled drop off time.

For those of you unfamiliar with our salon, we have no designated receptionist or reception area. We have a limited amount of space for parking and also a limited amount of space in the shop to receive and hold pets. Thus, we stagger our drop off times to create a more efficient and safer environment for you and your pet.
We ask that you please respect the time you are given to drop off your pet.

If you arrive late for your drop off time by 15 minutes or more, we reserve the right to reschedule your appointment and apply the appropriate cancellation fee.

We understand circumstances can change and last minute adjustments may need to be made from time to time. However, we ask that you please call and speak with us directly when making any changes on the day of your appointment. This is for your convenience. Although we always do our best to accommodate any last minute changes, it may not always be possible on that particular day and rescheduling the appointment may be necessary, in which case we would hate to have you make an unnecessary trip. We appreciate your understanding.

Pick Up Times

When your pet is dropped off to be groomed, we will either give you a specific time to pick them up or we will call you when they are done. Due to our limited amount of space we ask that your pet be picked up within an hour of our call at the latest. We depend on pets from the morning session being picked up in order to make room for the pets coming in for the afternoon session. Pets left for more than an hour after their groom has been completed and without prior authorization may incur a day care charge of up to $20.

Arrangements to leave your pet here longer than the duration of their groom can be made at the time you schedule your appointment. We are happy to do what we can to accommodate your schedule and knowing ahead of time what your needs are can make that much easier for us to do.

In some instances, we have found that there are certain pets that are too anxious and do not do well waiting in an unfamiliar setting. They can cause a disruption for the other pets in our care. In those cases, we will ask that you make yourself available to pick up your pet as soon as their groom is completed.

Cancellation Policy

We ask that you give us at least a 24 hr notice prior to your scheduled appointment time. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours of your originally scheduled time will be charged a fee of 50% of the cost of the groom/per dog. This fee will be added to your next appointment if you choose to reschedule.

Cancellations during the holidays will be expected to pay the full price of the groom per dog.

No Show Policy

No shows will be expected to pay the full price of the missed appointment. This fee will be added to your next appointment. Consecutive no shows will require all future appointments to be prepaid.

Check Policy

We accept cash, checks, Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. Returned checks will be charged a fee of $30.00.
